Essential Somatic Yoga for Beginners Learn core movements that are vital for good health, healing, releasing fascia, connecting with body, mind and intuition. Whether you already have a yoga practice, used to do yoga or never thought you could do yoga, this class is for you! Somatic Yoga consists of subtle, slow movements that can be practiced seated or reclining. In addition, Somatic movement and Yoga create support for the physical body; respiratory, and neurological systems. They effectively release chronic muscle tightness, improve flexibility and range of motion, enhance athletic performance, prevent injuries, improve balance, reduce stress, improve sleep and breathing.

Somatic Vinyasa Yoga When we link breath with movement we create an altogether subtle and powerful practice for radiant health. Our breath guides us into direct awareness of our inner space. Breath supports movement and accentuates our experience of safety and ease inside of our body. It absorbs our attention and quiets our busy minds. A practice of refinement in which mind and body merge into one.

Somatic Yoga for Difficult Emotions Somatics refers to experiencing the body from within through movement. The movements are actually active “brain exercises” that use the sensory motor cortex to increase brain neuroplasticity and address the full body pattern problem rather than symptoms. It can be modified to every body. Negative emotions, especially sadness, fear and grief can reinforce feeling limited, choice-less and disempowered. Somatic Movement helps release the cumulative burden of difficult emotions we carry. By releasing deeply held emotion from our body, we feel lighter, creative and connected to our intuition and intelligence.

Yoga Nidra Yoga Nidra means sleep with a trace of awareness.  It is a state of mind in between wakefulness and dreaming. When we practice Yoga Nidra we are reaching the deepest reaches of our mind.  Through the practice of Yoga Nidra, we are not just relaxing but restructuring and reforming habits, tendencies from within.  With every session, we soften ingrained habits and tendencies to bring about positive change.
